3D scanning captures your physical part as a digital mesh (OBJ/STL). It’s great for visualisation, reference, or future-proofing an existing part so you have a record if it ever breaks. A raw scan isn’t editable CAD it won’t have features like holes/threads/fillets, and may include minor noise or gaps.

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) fuses nylon powder into dense, isotropic parts with no supports, so complex lattices, internal channels and moving assemblies print in one go. The result is a durable, matte finish ideal for functional prototypes and short-run production. Build volume up to 440 × 440 × 450 mm. Standard turnaround ~2 weeks (rush on request). Australiawide delivery available.
SLM (Selective Laser Melting) fuses metal powder into dense,
near-wrought parts with internal features you can’t machine perfect for end-use brackets, manifolds, and tooling inserts with conformal cooling. Build volume up to 1100 × 625 × 625mm. Standard turnaround ~2 weeks (rush on request). Australia-wide delivery available
Polyurethane casting in silicone moulds delivers injectionmould–like cosmetics without high tooling costs—ideal for pilot builds, product demos, and bridge production. Great for colour-matched housings, crystal-clear parts, and soft overmoulds. Standard turnaround ~2 weeks. Australia-widedelivery available.
CNC milling and turning for tight-tolerance metal and plastic parts with crisp edges, machined threads and excellent repeatability. Ideal for functional prototypes, fixtures and production runs where dimensional accuracy and surface finish matter. Standard turnaround ~2 weeks.
Accuracy depends on the part size, geometry and surface finish. For most jobs we aim for ~0.1–0.3 mm point accuracy with fine feature capture where the scanner has a clear line-of-sight. Tight fits are validated during the CAD stage and with test prints when needed.
Yes—glossy, black or transparent parts can confuse scanners. We may apply a temporary matte scanning spray that wipes off after scanning. Deep holes, shiny cavities and hidden internal features are difficult because scanners need line-of-sight; these may require disassembly or measurement during the CAD stage.
You can choose STL, OBJ or PLY.
Wipe the part clean and dry. If it’s reflective/black/clear, don’t worry—we’ll handle temporary spray. Pack it safely (bubble wrap, no loose movement). Include any mating parts or dimensions that matter for fit. We return parts in their original state.
We’re in Melbourne (781 High Street, Reservoir). You can drop off locally or ship the part to us. We serve clients across Australia and return ship via AusPost/courier; same-day courier is available across metro Melbourne.
Pricing depends on part size, surface finish, detail level and whether you want scan-only or scan + reverse engineering. Share photos with a ruler in frame and tell us what you need the files for; we’ll provide a clear, itemised quote and timeline.
Yes. After scanning (and CAD if needed), we can 3D print fast or arrange short-run manufacturing. Your files are handled confidentially; we regularly work under NDAs and can sign yours or provide ours.
