Best for: 10–500 units, injection-moulding feel without tooling.
Best for: 500+ units, tight tolerances, repeatability.

Rapid prototyping turns your idea or CAD model into a physical part fast so you can test fit, form and basic function before committing to production. Use it for design validation, stakeholder demos, ergonomic checks, and engineering iterations.
Our in-house FDM service offers 24-hour express turnaround (standard is ~3 business days). SLA/SLS/MJF and other processes are typically ~2 weeks depending on part size, finish and queue.
Choose FDM for the most cost-effective, fast iterations and robust functional samples. Pick SLA when you need high surface quality, fine detail or paint-ready parts. Use SLS/MJF for stronger, more uniform nylon parts, complex geometries and short-run end-use trials.
Upload a 3D file via Instant Quote (STL, OBJ, WRL, STEP/STP, IGES/IGS, 3MF, DXF, DWG, ZIP; up to 200 MB). Make sure the model is watertight, scaled in millimetres, and specify any critical dimensions, thread sizes or press-fit features in notes.
Typical prototype accuracy is within a few tenths of a millimetre, depending on material, geometry and orientation; tighter fits generally favour SLA. If you have critical tolerances or mating parts, tell us and we’ll advise settings or a process to suit.
Yes—options include sanding, priming/painting, inserts, tapping, basic assemblies and sealing/infusion where applicable. Tell us the intended use (display, functional, outdoor, heat) and we’ll recommend the right finish and material.
We’re in Melbourne (781 High Street, Reservoir). You can pick up locally or choose AusPost/Courier for Australia-wide delivery; urgent same-day courier is available for metro Melbourne.
Click Instant Quote on kad3d.com.au, enter your details and upload a supported 3D file. If a file won’t upload or you need manual help, submit a request and our team will price it up.
Absolutely. We offer CAD design, reverse engineering and 3D scanning. Share photos, dimensions or a sample part and we’ll create production-ready CAD (STEP/IGES) and a printable file.
Yes—uploads are handled securely, we routinely work under NDAs, and we only share files internally to produce your job. We’re happy to sign your NDA or provide ours.
